British prayers for the world cup

A Church of England Bishop has written a series of prayers to help religious believers get through the World Cup; he has said that everyone will be affected by the World Cup so it would make sense to have some suitable prayers.

The first prayer is directed towards the fans of the game and hopes that the tournament will be a source of celebration that will help them get closer to God. The second prayer is aimed at those who are not interested in the game and asks that God grants them the gift of sympathy.

Another Bishop has also created prayers, the first prayer aimed at those who are participating in the tournament and asks for them to be guided and protected. The second prayer is aimed at the host country, South Africa and to all of those people that will be attending the tournament there and asks God to smile over South Africa. The final prayer is aimed at the people who will not be watching or have relatives that will be disappointed if their team loses the tournament and asks for them to show sympathy and love.
