John Gregory was surprised when he entered his piggery this week. He simply could not believe his eyes. There were mice everywhere attacking his animals. Ever since he realised the mice were feeding on his animals, he has been trying his utmost to get rid of the rodents.
His last resort it seems was to cover the animals with engine oil. In his farm in Wynarka, more than 130 km east of Adelaide, he tried to mask the taste of the pigs with the oil in his latest attempt to turn off the interest of the rodents. The problem got worse since April. When he came back to the farm after the school holidays, he felt like the ground was moving. There were hundreds and possibly thousands of mice around. Mr. Gregory said he normally used the oil on his farm animals to protect them from the sun. Now it seems, he will have to use the oil more often.
