The images captured by the Google Maps satellite in the Gobi Desert in China and which have appeared on the Internet have ignited the imagination of internet users. Some saw a giant bar code, others a Masonic symbol, others an assembly of solar panels or even a nuclear test site. In fact, you can imagine anything – the nearest road is 130 – 160 km from the base of Jiuquan, where China is developing its space program, and 700 km of a naval base.

In one of the pictures, three aircraft could be seen parked in the center of a mosaic of concentric circles. According to experts interviewed by the British magazine ‘The Telegraph’, this area serves as a fixed unidentified military base for testing missiles.
