Sultan Kösen from Turkey and aged 29 is the tallest man alive and measured 251 cm at the time of the measurement in February 2011. It has been over 20 years that Guinness World Record has measured someone over 8ft. So far only 10 confirmed or reliable cases of humans reaching 8ft or more have been identified by the Guinness Books of World Records.
Apart from being the tallest man, this part time farmer also holds the record for the man with the widest hand span and largest feet.
According to Sultan who comes from a family of five siblings, three brothers and one sister, being part of the prestigious Book of Records is a dream come true and it came as a surprise to him. He is the only one from his family that is of this height while the rest of the family are normal sized.
Due to his size, the young man was never able to finish school but supports his family by working in a farm part time. He further adds that being of such height has its own advantages and disadvantages. The advantages include being able to help his mum with routine jobs like changing a broken light or hanging the curtains while the biggest constraint relates to the fact that he has difficulties finding the right size of clothing and shoes. Also, fitting a regular size car is a real mission for him.
Some of his hobbies include listening to music, watching movies and playing computer games.
