In a heartwarming turn of events, a missing child, Abdul Aziz Khan, who disappeared seven years ago from Atlanta, has been located safe in the Denver area. The case of Abdul Aziz Khan, featured in a Netflix episode of ‘Unsolved Mysteries,’ was resolved when the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a trespass call in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. During the investigation, two adults were found entering a vacant house while two children, one of whom was identified as Khan, were in a vehicle parked in the driveway.

The female suspect, identified as Rabia Khalid, turned out to be Khan’s non-custodial parent with an active warrant for allegedly kidnapping him from Atlanta in 2017. Both Khan and the other child were taken into protective custody. Khalid, along with another suspect, Elliot Blake Bourgeois, are now facing charges including forgery, identity theft, providing false information to authorities, and trespassing. Notably, Bourgeois is charged with kidnapping, while Khalid is not due to legal nuances.

Khan’s family expressed overwhelming joy at his safe recovery and thanked the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for their exceptional work.
