A Douglas County teacher, David Feil, was arrested on child sex assault charges after allegations surfaced that he had groomed his students on social media to commit unspeakable acts. Feil, 49, faced two felony charges related to incidents where he allowed inappropriate physical contact with students.
The investigation began when a Safe2Tell tip was received from a sixth grader at Roxborough Intermediate School, where Feil taught sixth grade. The student reported that Feil added many students on video game platforms and social media, and sent them inappropriate videos on Snapchat.
Further interviews with Feil’s former students revealed disturbing behavior, including discussions about pornography, inappropriate physical contact, and gifts from Feil. The students described feeling uncomfortable but not realizing the gravity of the situation at the time.
One alarming detail from the investigation was that Feil was nicknamed “Mr. Pedophile” by his sixth-grade students. This revelation shed light on the concerning dynamics between Feil and his students.
Despite prior warnings about personal relationships with students and social media use, Feil continued to engage in inappropriate interactions. The school district found photos on Feil’s computer that raised additional red flags about his behavior.
Roxborough principal Megan Ofer confirmed that Feil was placed on administrative leave pending investigations. A substitute teacher was appointed to take over Feil’s classroom responsibilities during this period.
